Helen’s artworks represent her passion and love of colour, design and Photography. Having studied Interior Decorating, then colour and design, fashion and many different genres of art including Miniatures, Botanical, Portraiture in oils, Printmaking and finally Watercolour. For seven years she painted miniatures incorporating Australian Wildflowers available to an International market through Australian Image, in the Rocks.
Helen not only draws her inspiration from her local environment, including the many fabulous birds (her models) who frequent her deck on a daily basis, also from her photography taken when travelling with other artists to Asia, Morocco, Spain, France and Italy.
Over the years Helen has twice been a finalist in the Gosford Art Prize. Exhibiting bi-Annually with the Central Coast Art Society, Kur-ring-Gai Art Society, The Coastal Artists Group, 5 Lands Annual Exhibition during Winter Solstice, Pacific Palms, and many other exhibitions.
During Covid, having several Exhibitions cancelled, she took the opportunity to return to printmaking with gusto, having loved it in the past, is now printing most days. Helen went on to win 2 nd prize in Mixed Media at KAS Awards Exhibition in 2022 and then 1 st Prize in 2023 in the same Category and now teaches in this medium. She now teaches Geli Printing in small groups at her home. Meanwhile Watercolour continues as a mainstay in her work, Helen was chosen to represent The Central Coast Watercolour Society along with four others to represent NSW in The WA International Watercolour Exhibition in 22 with her painting of Kookaburras in her Jacaranda Tree which also sold.
